Universal Declaration
on the unity of Life

in relation to the cycle of nature, to the future of humans and animals

proclaimed by the association

Unpalatable reality, the human being is not the be all and end all - but merely a short-lived link in the food chain, one of Life's recyclable component parts - and death is a transfer of existence.

Inseparable, unique, Life is the spirit which quickens all beings, changes their shape down the centuries by the process of decomposition of the body. At random, Life uses the various elements produced by this decomposition, assembles them and then later again disperses them to start over again, giving to each species the intelligence that it needs.

« Nothing is lost, nothing is new, everything changes ». For millions of years, billions upon billions of humans, animals and vegetables have been born, to live on firm land or in the sea, before Life again leaves them. The bodies of these billions of beings disintegrated and, over the centuries, the matter from which they were formed was used to nourish and transmit Life to other beings.

In the same way that the dead leaf falling from a tree feeds a multitude of microscopic beings living in the soil, beings which, in their turn, will feed others. Man does not escape this biotransformation. The law of nature dictates that, when a human being dies and whatever the form of funeral (cremation, burial, etc.), the body becomes a form of nourishment, is transformed into gas, humus, mushrooms, worms, necrophagous insects, etc., in its passage from human state to other states, such as gas, mineral, vegetable, animal.

This is the eternal wheel, the universal law. Man thinks he is superior, but he is mistaken. Nature makes no distinction, for as long as life continues, each being that dies will be re-processed, without being able to choose its appearance. Inevitably, as prisoners of Life and of the realities of the biological cycle, human beings today will tomorrow become animals.

Be afraid of the future. If the cruel practices, institutionalised or tolerated for animals, are not abolished as a matter of urgency, you yourself will one day be that defenceless victim and you will endure all the persecutions that have been invented for animals.

So... You might be that struggling dog, howling in a vivisection laboratory, or that maltreated dog, spending its whole life on a chain. You might be that carelessly abandoned cat, dying of cold and hunger, that rodent inoculated with infectious germs by researchers, you might be that battery-reared chicken or calf, condemned to immobility and deprived of sunlight, but also that bird shut in a cage, that fish imprisoned in an aquarium, that goose or duck being force-fed by « funnel torture » to produce foie gras, that slave horse, that animal persecuted for show, that worm attached alive to the hook, etc., etc.

We must act now to stop all this suffering being inflicted on animals - so that we ourselves do not suffer in the future.

Haven't you had enough of this world of torture ?
